The Society was founded in 1992. Its aims are to collect, study and publish information concerning the history of Leckhampton and to stimulate public interest in local history. Meetings are held once a month from September to May at 8:00pm, usually on Thursday evenings, in St Philip and St James's Church House, Painswick Road, for talks and discussions. Outings and field trips are also organised and there are opportunities to participate in research groups. Membership is now over 130.
